The government has directed that the bodies of all victims of the fatal helicopter crash in Nandi be transported to Nairobi for further arrangements.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya confirmed that he had instructed the Clerk of the National Assembly to facilitate the transportation process.
The move comes as the country continues to grapple with the tragic loss of six people in the crash, including Emurua Dikir MCA Jonathan Ngeno.
“I have directed the Clerk of the National Assembly to facilitate the transportation of the bodies of all victims of the fatal helicopter crash in Nandi to Nairobi. As a nation, we continue to mourn with the bereaved families during this painful time,” stated Wetang’ula.
Leaders from across the region have called for unity and calm as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
The bodies had initially been taken to the mortuary at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret before arrangements were made for their transfer to Nairobi.
Authorities have assured the public that thorough investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
