Kenya has strongly condemned the recent strikes affecting the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, warning that the widening scope of hostilities in the Middle East poses a serious threat to international peace and security.
In a statement by President William Ruto, the Government expressed deep concern over the regionalisation of the conflict.
Kenya emphasised that, at this critical juncture in global affairs, longstanding multilateral institutions remain indispensable to resolving the crisis through diplomacy and structured international engagement.
“It is evident that the regionalisation of this conflict poses a grave threat to international peace and security. At this defining and perilous moment in global history, longstanding multilateral institutions remain indispensable frameworks for the resolution of the current crisis in the Middle East,” stated President Ruto.
The Government underscored the importance of international law, collective security mechanisms, and coordinated global action in preventing further deterioration of the situation.
Calling for calm and restraint from all parties, Kenya urged urgent multi-stakeholder engagement aimed at immediate de-escalation.
The statement highlighted the need for dialogue, confidence-building measures, and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent further loss of life and broader regional instability.
“Kenya calls for urgent multi-stakeholder engagement towards de-escalation,” President Ruto stated.
Kenya reaffirmed its support for peaceful resolution of disputes and reiterated its commitment to working with the international community to promote stability, security and respect for international norms.
