The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has finalized preparations for its upcoming Phase Two grassroots officials’ elections.

UDA National Chairperson Cecily Mbarire confirmed that all logistical and security arrangements required for the exercise have been put in place to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

Speaking in Embu Town after attending the launch of the Military Veterans Embu Chapter, Mbarire said the elections will be conducted digitally, a move aimed at guaranteeing transparency and efficiency.

The elections will take place across 19 counties in the Mount Kenya Region and Rift Valley Region, where party members will elect grassroots officials at polling stations.

According to the party, 20 officials will be elected at each polling station to represent members in various leadership positions.

Mbarire, who also serves as the Governor of Embu County, urged registered party members to turn out in large numbers to participate in the exercise and elect leaders who will represent them in different sectors of governance and the economy.

She noted that the elected grassroots officials will play an important role in shaping development priorities within their communities.

The officials will also be involved in engagements aimed at informing the government’s development agenda and supporting the implementation of projects at the grassroots level.

The grassroots elections are part of UDA’s efforts to strengthen its party structures and enhance participation of members in decision-making at the local level.
