Suspect Arrested, 80 Bales of Suspected Narcotics Seized in Lari Operation

On Monday, January 27, 2025, detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit, in collaboration with officers from the Lari police station, conducted an intelligence-driven operation that resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of suspected narcotic substances in the Lari region along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations reported that during the operation, vigilant officers intercepted an Isuzu D-Max with registration number KBK 030J, which the suspect, Francis Kairu, was operating.

A subsequent search uncovered a stash of drugs concealed within a hidden compartment.

“The suspect and the motor vehicle were escorted to DCI headquarters where a thorough search was conducted resulting in the recovery of 80 bales of dry green plant material suspected to be narcotic drugs concealed in a false compartment of the motor vehicle,” said the DCI.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations reiterates its resolve to combat the sale, distribution, and consumption of illicit drugs in our country.
